Sea and Flamigos

The pink flamingos are one of the symbols of the city and the pond where they live is a unique place. The Parco Naturale Regionale Molentargius-Saline is one of the widest and most important wetlands in Europe, thanks to the characteristics of its conformation: it includes basins of freshwater and saltwater divided by a dry salt flat called Is Arenas.

The rich variety of bird species includes not only flamingos, but also colonies of other protected species. The pink colour of the birds is reflected over the bright surface of the water, creating an amazing visual effect. It will also be possible to enjoy the scene from the top of the hill of Monte Urpinu, famous panoramic viewpoint of the city.

Afterwards, the visit will continue to the wide sandy beach of Poetto: eight kilometres of coastline make it the longest beach in Italy, where you will have the possibility to rest and go for a walk, facing the high promontory of Sella del Diavolo, beloved place of folk legends and myths.
